Kyrgyzstan’s regulator announced its series of spectrum auctions scheduled for this month has been called off due to a lack of interest.

TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate reported the Kyrgyzstan State Communications Agency (SCA), stated auctions for 2300MHz-2400MHz TDD spectrum saw no potential bidders making the process invalid.

In August, the SCA set reserve prices for combined bids at KGS60.92 million (US$769,600), and [divided spectrum into three lots](https://developingtelecoms.com/telecom-technology/wireless-networks/9909-kyrgyzstan-selling-2300mhz-2400mhz-spectrum-in-early-september.html). The licenses would have been valid for 10 years and covered the whole country with the exception of the country’s capital Bishkek and second major city Osh.

The National Committee of Statistics published data recently stating revenues of Kyrgyzstan’s operators totalled more than KGS23 billion in 2019, which was deemed stable year-on-year, reported Tazabek. Communications services accounted for 2.6 per cent of GDP in the same year with a workforce of 7,600 people.

Mobile services accounted for 51 per cent of communications revenues with internet services totalling 36 per cent.
