Tier one mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) Sisteer has launched a new MVNO named Buzz Me on Malaysia’s U Mobile network. Sisteer aims for Buzz Me to become a regional Asia MVNE platform.
The core of Buzz Me’s operations is Sisteer’s light technology platform which integrates a business support system (BSS) with U Mobile’s host BSS proxy. Prepaid plans are hosted by the network operator.
Since the successful launch of Buzz Me, the public reaction to the new service leads the MVNO to confidently expect that its highly competitive pre-paid plans will continue to appeal to multiple segments of Malaysia’s 42 million mobile subscribers.
Building upon this initial success, Sisteer – together with Asian mobile virtual network aggregator partner Enabling Asia - firmly expect a further three MVNOs to be fully operational in Malaysia by year end. Regionally, Sisteer is in advanced discussions with the mobile value chain from MNO through to distribution, retail brands and merchants for targeted launches in China and Myanmar.
“Clearly, as the technology partner of Enabling Asia, Sisteer is delighted with the success of the Buzz Me launch which signals the start of a region-wide movement of potential MVNOs launching highly-competitive mobile offerings,” says Alain Bureau, Sisteer’s Group CEO.
“Like other regions, the MVNO business model is perfect for the fast-growing ASEAN market and is the fast track for brands, supermarkets, insurance companies and many other businesses to develop new revenue streams from their customers and add value to their brand.”
