MTN has launched an AI-powered job board on its MTN Skills Academy, connecting users with vacancies, skills training and career guidance on a single platform.
Available across the 11 markets where the Skills Academy operates, the Job Board recommends roles based on users' skills, location and career goals. Users can also filter and save vacancies, track applications and receive recommendations for free courses where additional skills are required.
The launch comes as African employers face growing demand for digital skills. More than 60% of Africa's population is under 25, while the International Finance Corporation estimates that more than 230 million jobs in sub-Saharan Africa will require digital skills by 2030.
"The Job Board gives further practical expression to our commitment to digital and economic inclusion by connecting learning, skills and opportunity," said Marina Madale, MTN Group Executive for Sustainability and Shared Value.
Launched in 2022, the MTN Skills Academy offers training in areas including digital literacy, coding, data analytics, AI, cybersecurity and entrepreneurship. It has recorded nearly 526,000 enrolments and 192,000 course completions across its 11 markets.
The platform also provides certified digital certificates and accessibility features for users with visual, cognitive, neurological and mobility needs.
MTN said the Job Board is intended to extend the Skills Academy beyond training by giving users a direct route from skills development to employment.
