Digital infrastructure provider Vertiv announced on Monday it has signed a framework agreement to develop AI-ready data centre infrastructure across the GCC region, starting with the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
The agreement was signed with Dubai-based data centre developer Edge-Serve, Saudi-based construction and industrial contractor Integrated Roots Company Ltd (IRCL) and Saudi Electricity Project Development Company (PDC), a subsidiary of Saudi Energy and Saudi Arabia’s primary electricity provider.
Under the framework agreement, all four companies will collaborate on development and deployment of converged physical AI data centre infrastructure, compiling their collective expertise in critical digital infrastructure, site development, construction execution and energy expertise to support more repeatable deployment models in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and select additional markets in the GCC.
“AI-ready data centre capacity increasingly depends on how effectively power, cooling, controls and deployment execution are engineered together,” said Tassos Peppas, regional director for the Middle East, Turkey and Central Asia at Vertiv, in a statement. “This collaboration reflects a practical, systems-level approach to supporting high-growth markets with critical digital infrastructure designed for speed, scalability and operational confidence.”
The framework agreement builds on an existing collaboration deal signed last year between Vertiv and Edge-Serve to help accelerate digital infrastructure growth across high-growth regions, strengthen the GCC’s role as a global digital hub, and establish a scalable platform to support rising demand for next-generation digital infrastructure. That partnership has since been expanded into a broader multi-party, multi-market program, Vertiv said.
