Paratus Tanzania revealed on Monday that it has established a new point of presence (PoP) at Wingu Data Centre in Dar es Salaam that connects the telco to Paratus Group’s continental network in East Africa.
The PoP – which was established last month – provides Tanzania with Paratus-owned routes extending north to Nairobi via Mombasa, south to Maputo and onward to Johannesburg and Eswatini, as well as internationally to Europe and the US.
The new PoP enables Paratus Tanzania to provide IP transit, Layer 2 circuits, wholesale network capacity and international connectivity services to local carriers, ISPs and enterprises, giving them access to regional and global networks.
Paratus said the Dar es Salaam PoP supports the group's Kigali-Mombasa (K2M) network strategy, strengthening connectivity between East African markets and providing access to international subsea cable capacity.
“Our focus is on connecting Tanzania to the wider Paratus network and giving businesses and service providers access to the regional and international connectivity they need,” said Paratus Tanzania MD Said Alli in a statement. “This new PoP strengthens our local capabilities while creating more opportunities for our customers to connect with markets beyond Tanzania.”
Paratus Group launched Paratus Tanzania in March 2025 via a joint venture with Tanzanian company Green Telecom.
