Huawei’s Stellar AI Campus Network powers enterprises for the agentic AI era

Huawei’s Stellar AI Campus Network powers enterprises for the agentic AI era
Shawn Zhao, President of the Campus Network Domain, Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, unveiled the Stellar AI Campus Network Solution at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 in Shanghai on September 17, 2026.

While digital transformation has been on the agenda for most enterprises in recent years, the growing use of agentic AI is putting extra pressure on enterprises to digitally transform their enterprise campus networks to ensure they can keep up with demand.

The nature of agentic AI makes enterprise campus networks more sensitive to congestion and latency. In many use case scenarios, a 100 ms network latency combined with 1% packet loss will cause agent task execution time to increase by more than 2x and token consumption to increase by 2.4x, at which point poor experience assurance becomes a real problem.

Solving this problem requires more than simply adding more bandwidth to campus networks. It also requires having the right architecture with the right intelligence that not only is secure enough for the agentic AI era, but also puts the user experience first.

Huawei’s new Stellar AI Campus Network Solution – launched at HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 – is designed to deliver exactly this. With a focus on upgrading the user experience, the AI-powered solution helps enterprises to build a secure, intelligent high-quality 10 Gbps campus based on three key Huawei technologies: superfast wireless connectivity, full‑scope security, and network autonomy.

Superfast wireless performance

For the wireless component of its Stellar AI Campus Network, Huawei has launched a new AirEngine Wi-Fi 7 Advanced next‑generation enterprise wireless solution. While Wi-Fi 7 can theoretically deliver downlink data speeds of up to 46 Gbps – which is almost five times faster than Wi-Fi 6 – the benefits for campus networks go beyond raw data speeds.

For example, AirEngine Wi-Fi 7 Advanced offers better performance per user by leveraging smart antennas and digital pre-distortion (DPD) filtering. This reduces RF non-linear losses and boosts air interface performance per terminal, enabling ultra-fast download of GB-scale model materials and 3D assets in seconds.

It also uses integrated air interface scheduling technology to granularly allocate air interface resources across multiple dimensions. This boosts multi-user concurrency, supporting parallel transmission of multiple high-definition visual streams. That means, for example, live streams on multiple terminals and robot image backhaul can run smoothly without stuttering.

AirEngine Wi-Fi 7 Advanced also delivers better networking performance via its proprietary intelligent coordinated scheduling and spatial reuse (iCSSR) technology, which dynamically adjusts the coverage angles of dynamic-zoom smart antennas and delivers microsecond-level precise coordination among APs. This not only resolves co-channel transmission conflicts with legacy Wi‑Fi, reducing interference by 84%, but also enables 160 MHz/320 MHz continuous networking across the whole network, which increases overall bandwidth and doubles wireless networking performance.

Meanwhile, the solution’s smart beamforming (SmartBF) tracks user movement within milliseconds, dynamically predicts downlink channels and boosts directional signal strength by over 100%, all of which delivers gains in download rates for moving terminals.

Huawei says Wi-Fi 7 Advanced is designed to support emerging bandwidth-hungry scenarios such as AI workloads, embodied robots, and mixed reality (XR).

For example, a university deploying virtual reality (VR) teaching and training classrooms for clinical medicine with 360° live streaming and VR headsets found that legacy Wi-Fi was unable to support high multi-user VR concurrency. Even other Wi‑Fi 7 solutions struggled to support 14 concurrent VR headsets. After the university upgraded to Huawei Wi‑Fi 7 Advanced, per-terminal downlink throughput doubled, enabling smooth operation for 26 VR headsets and delivering high-quality virtual teaching and training experiences.

Full-scope security at multiple levels

Security is a perennial challenge for enterprise networks, but that challenge is growing in scope and scale as more enterprises look to adopt next-gen technologies. For example, according to recent data from SentinelOne, IoT attacks in campuses have grown 124% in 2026 compared to 2025. Meanwhile CrowdStrike reports that AI-driven network attacks have increased by 89% year on year.

Huawei’s Stellar AI Campus Network tackles security on multiple levels: asset security, connectivity security, and spatial security.

For asset security, Huawei has fused AI into the network to makes terminals fully visible and manageable. By leveraging AI clustering-based terminal identification technology, the solution can automatically identify dumb terminals with an accuracy rate of up to 95%.

The switches can detect unauthorized devices and unmanaged endpoints both inside and outside the network and block them in seconds. They can also detect unusual terminal behavior by using smart anomaly detection (SmartAD), powered by local inference on switches, which monitors and analyses traffic patterns. The switches learn the traffic and behaviors of normal devices to establish a baseline for detecting traffic behavior anomalies in seconds and proactively block them. The result is a much faster response compared to remote analysis platforms that typically take too long to respond and can’t effectively stop rapid lateral attacks launched through these endpoints

For connectivity security, Huawei's Stellar AI Campus Network leverages unique Wi-Fi Shield technologies that protect wireless signals from eavesdropping by transmitting superimposed noise through antennas controlled by AI algorithms. This makes signals "invisible" and "undetectable" to outsiders, which makes eavesdropping on the signals physically impossible.

Also, Huawei’s full stack of campus core switches, access/aggregation switches, and APs are equipped with end-to-end post-quantum cryptography (PQC). Moreover, wired links have zero chance of being cracked.

In terms of spatial security, Huawei’s APs use built-in Wi-Fi CSI sensing technology to detect intruders in camera blind spots or areas where cameras can’t be deployed.

AI-powered autonomous O&M

With enterprise agent adoption expected to approach 50% this year, manual O&M falls short of 24/7 demands, making minute-level fault recovery crucial.

Huawei's Stellar AI Campus Network leverages Huawei’s Level 4 autonomous driving network (ADN) based on its NetMaster network intelligent agent to help enterprises build autonomous campus network systems with AI-based monitoring and management.

Rather than using external probes to periodically collect data – which only supports partial network detection – Huawei’s APs and switches are equipped with built-in experience awareness agents that enable the system to proactively detect abnormalities in the entire network's service experience around the clock and preemptively identify potential service issues before a fault occurs.

Compared to handling faults manually, which can take up to one hour to resolve, Huawei’s NetMaster wireless optimization agent can resolve 80% of wireless faults automatically, with mean time to repair (MTTR) reduced by 90%.

This isn’t theory – it’s been demonstrated in the field. JD Cloud’s JoyAgent – which enables users to build AI agents using natural language without writing code – has been integrated with NetMaster, establishing a complete link from O&M assurance work orders to the closed-loop management of network faults supported by 24/7 agent monitoring across the entire network.

This has enabled JD Cloud to realise a 12-fold improvement in O&M efficiency, so that network troubleshooting issues that once took two hours on average to fix now take 10 minutes. Meanwhile, the ability to proactively monitor and inspect high-frequency faults has boosted work order response rates to 97%.

In short, Huawei's Stellar AI Campus Network Solution is designed to maximise the user experience whilst also boosting security. Meanwhile, Huawei said it will continue to innovate around customer needs as it accelerates deployment of AI-powered, secure and intelligent campus networks. Huawei also said it will continue to collaborate with ecosystem partners to help customers build their AI-powered campus networks with enhanced network efficiency and security.
